Parents

The VCP Parent Group was formed in Spring 2004. It is VCP’s version of a PTA. Its mission is to provide support to the preschool staff and parents through parental participation and education. The group’s goals shall generally include support of classroom activities, director, staff, children, and parents. The VCP parent group is open to all parents of enrolled students. Meetings are held about once a month. Participation is on a voluntary basis. No dues or fees are required for membership. The Parent Group has an active Facebook page to keep up-to-date on social gatherings and happenings at school.

There are many activities and events in which parents can choose to get involved during the school year. Each school year, our Parent Group events include:

  • Bike Bash
  • Silent Auction
  • Parents’ Night Out
  • Valentine’s Dance
  • Teacher Appreciation Week
  • Garage Sale

Funds raised by the Parent Group are used to help support the creative movement enrichment program that is offered during preschool hours by Dance Discovery. The Parent Group also helps support the teachers and provide financial assistance on school equipment when needed.

What Parents Are Saying

”Violet Crown Preschool has provided our son with confidence, love, and a genuine enthusiasm for school. He loves his teacher and literally runs into his classroom each morning ready to have a great day. We are so blessed for this gem of a school!”
-Adam C.

“VCP is such a wonderful resource for my family. My toddler has a chance to socialize with children his own age, create and play, and participate in “messy” activities that I can’t do at home with a new baby. Not only does VCP allow my toddle to spread his wings, it has allowed me to meet other parents who are in the same stages of parenthood as me. This community is priceless! The playground is great, and the staff is superb. We love our time at VCP!”
-Emily H.

Slide 3

“I came to VCP as a very nervous first time parent of a very shy and sensitive 18 month old. I can confidently say that we have found the perfect preschool for us. In a short time, our son’s skills have increased immeasurably and his confidence is now soaring. He is so excited about his friends at school truly adores his teacher. I believe one thing that really sets VCP apart from other preschools is that it offers small class sizes (with wonderful, experienced teachers!), which allows for a lot of one on one attention and bonding between teacher and student. The director, Andrea, is very hands on and involved in all of the classrooms and knows most of the daily happenings around school. She knows each individual student pretty well, and her door is always open for questions and concerns. VCP feels more like one big family than a school, and we are so glad our little boy loves it as much as we do!”
-Rachel T.

“I have had two children attend Violet Crown Preschool. It is a hidden gem of the neighborhood! It’s been a wonderful place for my children to start their journey into learning. It’s clean, has small class room sizes and is play based. The best part is the kids get loads of outdoor time. The outdoor space is awesome – plenty of fun and educational toys, a small playscape, a little garden, a sand pit (gets covered daily after playtime) and best of all, loads of shade! Barely any teacher turn over in the last seven years must mean they’re doing something right!”
-Karol M.

Slide 5

“I send both of my girls to VCP for many wonderful reasons (clean, organized classrooms, and an emphasis on learning through play, both indoors and outside on the awesome shaded playground, etc.), but what I love most about VCP are their amazingly gifted and caring teachers. Each teacher my girls have had has loved them as if they were their own. It’s rare to find that in a preschool and I’m just so thankful we found Crestview!”
-Mindy B., mom

Slide 6

“VCP is a small, simple, play-based school that our daughter has enjoyed being a part of for nearly 3 years. Patient and loving teachers, weekly chapel and dance class, flexible schedules, the option of summer school, and awesome parents make this a one-of-a-kind preschool that has been a great fit for our family.”
-Sarah B., mom
